In May 2015, The Olivia Haydel Senior Center came out the Georgia Veterans Memorial Park/Walk of Heroes for the 40th Anniversary of the End of the Vietnam War service. During their visit they were able to visit The Moving Wall – a half scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, interact with the static Vietnam Era helicopter displays, and see the Through The Eyes Vietnam Exhibit.
Bob Atkinson, a Director of the Walk of Heroes was able spend time explaining the vision of the Memorial Park to the visitors, and to share the vision of the completing the six War Enclaves that represent the major conflicts of the 20th Century
“Through the Eyes” is a collection of photographs, memorabilia, weapons, equipment and other objects from Vietnam. The photographs were all taken by Hosier after he lost six of the 11 men in his recon unit.
